Wolves v Bolton

So here we are, as we start to watch the sun set on what was our best start ever in the Premiership, at the very bottom, 4 points away from safety and with some hard (well being last means all games are going to be hard) games ahead of us.

Bolton next...what can we say...any chance...HA!

Having said that when I travelled up to Molineux to watch us play Manchester United I was so impressed by our fans, their singing, tongue in cheek lyrics and ability to laugh (let’s face it what else can we do) was overwhelming, it was a great to be there even losing 5-0. At least it looks like this was a lost game against the Champions, so not too bad.

I personally need to keep the faith and therefore am going for a Wolves win again! I am going to say we will get 2 in whilst Bolton will only mange the one. I will go further, Bolton will get the first one by the 40th minute but we will come back to score two, 1st by Fletcher and second from a corner resulting in Carl Henry (who hopefully will be there) smashing it into the back of the net! So my predication Wolves 2 – 1 Bolton

Mr Footie’s prediction is short and sweet this week...(either he’s tiring from being creative or his track record is quietening him down, either way he’s in our favour this week...

I’ll keep it simple this weekend.

This is 9 pointer!! Wolves have to win and will win 2-1. Prediction Wolves 2 – 1 Bolton

I base this purely on the fact that Wolves need is greater

I have just realised that we have agreed on the score and whilst I would normally change mine to accommodate his I do believe (and hope) that on this occasion we are right and therefore will leave it!
COME ON YOU WOLVES!

Norwich v Wolves

Well it’s all going from bad to worse, there seems to be no hope of survival now! 12 goals against us in the last 3 games is not just a bad run but the end of realistically believing that we will pick up any points against the likes of  Norwich, Sunderland, Swansea, Everton, let alone the other two big boys still to play, Man C and Arsenal! I guess we could hopefully get a point against Wigan come last game but then what relevance will that have.

That’s my moaning over!

So what about the Norwich game...well realistically I can’t see us winning but I can’t help hoping, dreaming, wishing that the boys will pull it off and not only get us a point but go as far as scoring 3. They can do it so until the lady sings at sunset I can only but shout COME ON YOU WOLVES! My hopeful prediction is Norwich 1 – 2 Wolves (Jarvis and Fletcher to score).

Here’s Mr Footie’s prediction:

Well for the first time I picked the right result last Sunday (hardly a surprise). The manner of Wolves surrender without a wimper did shock me. Don’t think it would have happened on Big Mick’s watch?

Morgan needed to take decisive action after the Blackburn game but didn’t and TC looks set to remain in charge for the remainder of the season. This is a decision which in my view, all but seals Wolves fate. A real man motivator is what’s needed to lift a flagging team and TC does not appear to be that man.

Norwich have been in decent form this season and I can see them running out 3-1 winners this weekend.

Wolves v Man U (and I'm there!)

This is my annual trek to Molineux...some say why travel 1604 miles to watch us get thrashed, well if I am to be truthfully honest, why not, why not go and see the BIG ONE - Premiership leaders v 2nd from bottom by 1 point.

Lets be honest, if we continue like this we are not likely to win a game so I might as well go to a top flight game where I get to see the potential Premiership Champions play my team, that's got to better than watching a Blackburn beat us 2-0 at home!

And then if you think about it, our record shows, that we tend to perform better against the top 6 than the remaining 13, so who knows, could this be the one, the one win that we all talk about when we are watching us play in the Championship League next season.

Apologies, that's really quite negative and frankly we can still make it, we can pull it off, without help from anyone else, we can survive, we just need to believe and this could be the one that counts, the one that starts our survival run for the rest of the season.

So to the predictions, here's Mr Footies (hopefully he will be as wrong as he always has been, and by that I mean wrong in our favour!):

I am 0 out of 3 so far since these predictions began. In fact I was more accurate with my prediction for my own team!

The major surprise ahead of this weekend’s fixture is that TC is still in charge. The papers last Sunday were full of “Sacked after 3 games” headlines!! Thankfully, rumours about Gary Megson replacing him were just that!!!

Given the way the respective teams are playing this looks a nailed on away win and now that they have their noses in front in the title race, I don’t see United taking the foot off the gas in this game.

Wolves 0-3 United.

Great, that's a great (not) prediction but its a lot better than Mr Man U who today predicted, after a brief conversation, that the score would be:

Wolves 1-4 United

I suppose they are quite similar, after all they are both a win by 3 goals only difference is giving us a consolidation goal. He was quite sure that we would get one!

Well here's mine...The shocker of the season, talk of a third manager coming in, a Chairman who has faced the crowds (and frankly I personally think its not right to hit him as a scouser mafia, lets be honest he's invested in the development of the stadium, spent, apparently only less than the top 6 teams in the Premiership, and from what I have read has also pumped in some serious monies into the community in Wolverhampton. If that's right then Steve Morgan is doing a reasonable job, he's only got it wrong now by not having a real replacement for MM but then again would we survive with MM still there?), and then go on to beat Manchester Untied!

Yes I said it BEAT MAN U! Rooney will get a goal and probably two so I will go for:

Wolves 3-2 United

COME ON YOU WOLVES!

PS Keep an eye out for the one fan holding up the Gibraltar Flag (and take pity for him if he's travelled the 1604 miles only to see them lose and maybe lose big time, but hey that's what make a fan)

Wolves v Blackburn

To be fair to Mr Football Expert, I am posting his ‘prediction’ after the match so can’t lose when I say that it will be 2-0 to Blackburn! Having said that, had I posted this before the match I would have gone for a 1-0 win to Wolves as it is, or rather was, one of the games we HAD to win...what with Man U next week (I will there for that one) we desperately needed the win.

So here’s Mr Footies prediction...
Wolves must atone for Sunday’s shocking result in a crunch relegation “6 pointer” with Blackburn this weekend. Today’s news regarding Roger Johnson hardly installs confidence that the squad are in the right frame of mind. Blackburn and their chicken farming owners deserve relegation, as does the awful Steve Kean, however they seem to be picking up points here and there to remain in with a shout of staying up. As Mark Lawrenson would say, this will be a game to be watched “from behind the sofa” ie very little quality on show. I have to sit on the fence and go for a 1-1 which would help Rovers more than Wolves.

By that way he also predicted his own teams score with...Brighton 3-0 Pompey (almost got that one right!)

This really is not looking good and frankly a Wolves fan who was there sent me this photo (coming soon) which I think needs no explanation, after all getting rid of MM made sense as long as you had a replacement lined up for him, otherwise why...WHY?!?

Fulham v Wolves

Once again I have been challenged by he who dared call himself Gibraltar's Football Expert but then went on to lose as I got closer to the real score...Gibwolves 1 - Footy Guesser 0!
So here's this weeks prediction:

Footy Guesser;
A difficult one to call on Sunday but I am going to go for Wolves to remain unbeaten under TC by grabbing a draw at Fulham. Fulham tend to be strong at home and I can see Clint Dempsey firing them into the lead only to be pegged back as Jarvis floats the perfect cross onto the head of Fletcher/Doyle!! (1-1)

As with any game in the premiership it's not easy to call, even the bottom of the table can pull it off against the top on occasion so it's never easy!
However, I think Wolves will want to prove themselves again and show real support for TC. So often have they come from behind that I honestly think they will score first this weekend. Its turn around time for the team! Unfortunately I don't think they will manage to keep a clean sheet which will result in fast aggressive game and therefore 1 or 2 more goals. I can't imagine this ending in a draw and so will go with Wolves to win 3-2. A real turn around by the team that so many thought would not survive! COME ON YOU WOLVES!
